Network Ping Latency & Jitter Tester

Measure round-trip latency (RTT) in milliseconds, ping jitter, and response consistency. Issues sequential HTTP requests to calculate round-trip time (RTT) across 10 samples, displaying minimum latency, median ping, and variance jitter.

How to use this test

  1. Click 'Start Ping Test'.
  2. Watch 10 sequential ping packets transmit in real time.
  3. Review Minimum Ping, Average Ping, and Jitter in milliseconds.
  4. Low ping (<30ms) and low jitter (<5ms) are ideal for gaming and calls.

How to understand your result

Looks good: Average latency under 40ms with low jitter (<5ms).
Check this: High latency (>100ms) or high jitter (>20ms) indicating bufferbloat.

Troubleshooting: what to try next

  • Switch from 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi to 5 GHz Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet.
  • Check if other household members are streaming 4K video or downloading games.

What this test cannot tell you

Measures HTTP endpoint round-trip timing, not raw ICMP network echo packets.
